The White Mountain Milers Running Club Needs Your Help!
As with any nonprofit organization, the future viability of the club depends on its members. Now is your opportunity to participate in ensuring the success of and shaping the future direction of the club.
As happens with all boards, members rotate in and out on a regular basis. This creates opportunities for new people to move into positions to help guide the club. Several board members’ terms are ending this year and we are looking for volunteers to join the board or subcommittees of the board.
The board is responsible for maintaining the mission of the club which includes:
Providing organized running and walking opportunities to promote public health and to encourage amateur athletic competition.
Promoting fitness education, running, and walking events in the greater Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire.
To raise funds by donations, membership dues, and event fees to promote running and walking and to provide scholarships to deserving student athletes.
Available board roles include:
Membership Secretary: Maintain and track club memberships and email lists.
Email Coordinator: Send out regular communications to the club mailing list with information provided by the President, Subcommittees, Whitaker Woods Director, etc.
Uniform/Gear coordinator: Select club gear that will be available for members to purchase and coordinate online store and/or in person sales.
Members at Large: Participate in the general management and decision-making of the club.
If you have a particular strength, skill, or idea that you think would be useful to the club, now is the time to bring them forward by joining the board!
In addition, we will be forming a couple of subcommittees of the board, starting with:
North Conway Half Marathon & 5K Planning Committee: Plan the 2025 races.
Group Runs/Activities Subcommittee: Plan group runs and events and recruit volunteers to “lead” regular or occasional group runs.
You do not need to be a board member to participate in a subcommittee!
